Automated process will enhance department training and interactions with the public.

The next parent presentation on "The Power of Words" will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Queen Creek High School, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road.  It is open to the public and QCPD will discuss with students and parents the power words can have and potential consequences.

Donate to the food drive at town buildings to support the United Food Bank and also join them and the Duane Ellsworth American Legion Post 129 for a Day of Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 10, starting at 3 p.m. at the police department, 20727 E. Civic Parkway.

In addition to the two units joining the QCFMD Emergency Transportation Services fleet Sept. 1, two more units are anticipated by the end of September 2023, providing the town with four full-time units in service and one unit available for use at the fifth station, said town officials. The staffed units in service will each have an EMT and an EMT-paramedic.

The Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department officially began serving residents on Jan. 1, 2008, making this year the department's 15-year anniversary. In 2008, the town’s population was just over 24,000. In its first year of operation, the department launched with about 30 employees, two stations and two fire trucks. With a current population of approximately 71,000, the department has grown to meet the needs of the community, with 81 employees and five fire stations.

According to the Children’s Safety Zone, there were 143 water related incidents in Maricopa and Pinal counties in 2022, and sadly, 60 water related deaths, including 15 pediatric drownings. Drowning is a top cause of injury-related death for children in Arizona, especially for children 5 and under (pediatric).

Both officers had the highest number of DUI arrests in Queen Creek. They also support the department's efforts in DUI enforcement by taking on additional tasks such as assisting with impaired driving training and equipment in their commitment to keeping the community safe.
