In compliance with Arizona state law, the Queen Creek Police Department is sending out this notification that convicted sex offender Jimmy Lee Brown, 53, nickname JJ, is now residing in Queen Creek at 19665 E. Carriage Way.

Editor's UPDATE: Connor Jarnagan attends high school in Queen Creek. On Feb. 7, the Queen Creek Town Council voted 5-2 in favor of supporting SB 1183. Both Gilbert and Chandler councils unanimously supported the bill on Feb. 6 and Feb. 8, respectively. Jarnagan has asked everyone to go online and support SB 1183 at nobrassknuckles.org.

I'm asking Arizonans to support SB 1183 to ban brass knuckles or, if the bill gets amended, to restrict them. I will do whatever I can to help with this effort and to represent the victims who have been harmed by this dangerous weapon. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a program offered through the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department that educates volunteers about preparedness. The class is limited to 25 attendees and participants must be Town of Queen Creek residents or live within the Queen Creek County Island Fire District. This year's training class begins Feb. 8.
