QCFMD hosting child seat safety inspection, installation event March 25

This is free and for residents only. Sign-ups are required. Having a correctly installed child safety seat is crucial to prevent children from getting injured or killed in a car crash. Statistics show more than 70% of child safety seats are installed incorrectly.

The Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) will be hosting a free child safety seat installation and inspection event for residents this weekend and sign-ups are required.

From 9 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, March 25 trained QCFMD technicians will be available to help make sure those safety seats are properly installed at Fire Station 2 in Queen Creek, located at 24787 S. Sossaman Road.

The event does require prior registration. To register for a time slot click here and pick your desired time. Participants will need to bring their own car seats and the instructions that came with the seat. Again, sign up for the one vehicle per time slot at QueenCreekAZ.gov/ChildSeatSafety.

If residents need help obtaining a child safety seat, QCFMD has a limited quantity available. Call the Fire Administration number at 480-644-2400 to make the request.

QCFMD’s Child Passenger Safety Seat Program teaches parents and caregivers how to properly install child safety seats into their vehicle.

  • Seats are inspected for Queen Creek residents by appointment only.
  • To avoid not being able to get your car seat installed by a certified technician, do not arrive unannounced at a fire station to have a car seat installed. Not all firefighters are trained to install a car seat.
  • Bring your vehicle owner’s manual and the manual for your car seat to your scheduled appointment, if you have it.

To make an appointment with a certified technician, call 480-358-3360.
