Teenager charged in Queen Creek 'shots fired' incident

A 16-year-old male has been booked into a juvenile detention facility and charged with three felonies following what the Queen Creek Police Department (QCPD) identified as a "shots fired" incident near Sierra Park and Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek on Tuesday afternoon.

No injuries were reported and QCPD officials said the suspect "turned himself in to officers at the police department, after he was contacted by detectives."

He was booked into the Durango Jail on three Class 6 felonies, including disorderly conduct (with a deadly weapon), discharging a firearm in city limits and a minor prohibited from carrying/possessing firearms.

"No other suspects have been charged at this time, however the investigation is ongoing," said QCPD officials.
