QCPD forming K-9 Unit

Residents may see the canines out and about in the community with their handlers as they're undergoing four months of training and growing into their new roles.

The Queen Creek Police Department is currently forming its own K-9 Unit.

Residents may see the canines out and about in the community with their handlers as they're undergoing four months of training and growing into their new roles.

"We look forward to introducing the canines and their handlers to you as we get closer to graduation day," said a police department spokesperson.

Queen Creek police officers officially hit the streets on Jan. 11 at midnight. All QCPD officers have undergone extensive training, with a focus on decision making, partnerships and community collaboration.
