Queen Creek Town Council approves fully funding PSPRS police plan

With the launch of the Queen Creek Police Department, the town is transitioning from an internal police pension reserve to fully funding the PSPRS police plan. The transition includes a payment of $7 million to PSPRS from the town’s $26.3 million internal police pension reserve.

They do monthly adoptions at the Queen Creek Petco, 21178 E. Ocotillo Road. Upcoming events there next year are Jan. 7, Feb. 11 and March 18, from noon to 3 p.m. They have a special retrofitted RV outside the store, with room for dozens of adoptable dogs and cats.

Calgary was turned in because her family could not afford to take care of her medical needs. She was taken to the veterinarian the very day she was brought into the group. The veterinarian determined that her glaucoma had progressed and she needed to have her eye removed. Calgary has been recovering in one of the amazing foster homes at Friends for Life.
