According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), only 15 percent of middle and high school-aged children met the recommended hour of physical activity a day over the past two years. An acute adolescent mental health crisis is now challenging parents, school administrators and health care professionals across the county.

The Queen Creek Police Department reminds residents to slow down, avoid distractions and obey posted signage. As a reminder, Arizona law (ARS 28-857) requires motorists to stop for school buses with flashing lights or an extended stop sign, unless the school bus is stopped on the opposite side of a divided median.

In February, Crismon High announced its mascot, the Crismon Rattlers.

"In my free time I enjoy fishing, woodworking and coaching sports. I have coached many sports for the last 25 years. I am currently the varsity linebackers coach at Red Mountain High School," Garces said. "I also enjoy building and flying drones. I spend most of my time with my wife of 23 years and my five kids ranging from 21 to 9 years old."
