The Phoenix-based construction management company celebrated women all month to commemorate Women’s History Month.

The group received a tour of the Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Center, located at 4620 N 16th St. in Phoenix. The facility is being constructed by GCON and will be one of their most recently completed healthcare projects.

Following the tour, the attendees were treated to a martial arts training session at Arizona Budokan. Women were taught how to defend themselves and practice safety in the most challenging situations.

Women in Construction Week is the first week of March each year and seeks to promote women entering the field of construction. As more women join the industry, events honoring them become increasingly important to help maintain a steady pipeline of qualified female candidates. GCON prides itself on employing 46 women, roughly 25% of their workforce.
