QCPD: Cake the cat home with family after months of roaming the streets

Reunited and it feels so good, thanks to Queen Creek Officer Antonio Rodriguez.

Queen Creek Officer Antonio Rodriguez was working out of the police satellite office located inside Queen Creek's Fire Station 3, when some young girls stopped by this week with a cat they had found near Germann and Rittenhouse roads. The officer scanned the cat for a microchip and found one.

It turns out Cake the cat traveled more than 21 miles from Mesa to Queen Creek. She has now been reunited with her grateful family.

This is a good reminder to microchip your pets and make sure the address listed is current. Friends for Life Animal Rescue in Gilbert often hosts free microchipping events covered by the Queen Creek Sun Times. Visit them at azfriends.org.
