QCFMD hiring for 24 EMT, paramedic positions

Recruitment opens Monday, May 8 in an effort to hire and train staff before two new ambulances arrive by the end of July.

Due to rapid growth, the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) is recruiting for 24 new full-time EMT and paramedic positions.

Town of Queen Creek officials say this recruitment is needed to expand its emergency transportation/ambulance services to ensure consistency and high-quality emergency services.

Opening May 8, new hires will be trained and ready to operate the two new ambulances scheduled to arrive by the end of July.

“This is an exciting next step for the town with respect to emergency services,” said QCFMD Chief Vance Gray. “The town began providing fire response services 15 years ago with two temporary stations. Since that time, we have expanded to five permanent stations and incorporated ‘medical’ in the department’s name to better reflect the diverse calls we respond to.”

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire with a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, AZ or National EMCT certification, and CPR certification. Paramedics must also have an Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
