Community shows love to Queen Creek PD

Just hours before the Feb. 11 shooting in south Phoenix and other police shootings in New Mexico and Maryland yesterday, the Queen Creek Raising Cane's dropped off dinner for the entire Queen Creek Police Department (police officers and support staff) on Thursday night.

With the shooting early yesterday morning that injured nine Phoenix police officers, it's refreshing to see how the Queen Creek community is embracing its new police department.

Just hours before the Feb. 11 shooting in south Phoenix and other police shootings in New Mexico and Maryland yesterday, the Queen Creek Raising Cane's dropped off dinner for the entire Queen Creek Police Department (police officers and support staff) on Thursday night.

Then today, Feb. 12, the Queen Creek Police Department will receive special welcome bags from the non-profit group, Supporting the Thin Blue Line.

"We put together appreciation bags for every sworn, civilian, canine and horse law enforcement employee in the state of Arizona," said Amanda Howard, a supervisor for 18 years with the Phoenix Police Department's 911 communication dispatch center. She started the non-profit Supporting the Thin Blue Line in February 2021 to help "pay it forward."

If interested in helping out the non-profit organization in any way, join the Supporting the Thin Blue Line Facebook group or email Howard at amanda.stbl@gmail.com.
