ROSS CLAIR PEARCE passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.  He was born December 17, 1939 in Ogden, Utah to  his loving parents, Clair William Pearce and Nora Della Hawkins.
He graduated from Ogden High School and was able to attend the 60 year reunion.  He attended Weber State University where he attained two B.S. degrees and an M.S degree from Brigham Young University in education and counseling.
He had one sister he adored and watched over for 20 years and she married Ted Gregory and he lovingly took care of her for 58 years.
Ross married Mary Lou Christensen December 19, 1963 in the Salt Lake City temple.  They celebrated their 58th anniversary.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Ross was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always loved being a missionary.  He served a Stake mission and also served in West Virginia and Kentucky. He was involved with the youth in Scouting and youth activities in the Church and taught many Sunday School lessons.   He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.
Ross was a great father and loved his son Michael Ross Pearce and daughter Heather Pearce.  We had many fun trips visiting family in Utah and Wyoming and other states.  Ross felt that exercise was so important and worked out each day.  He loved to read his scriptures, Louis L’Amour, Clive Cussler and other good authors.
He was blessed with two granddaughters, Kristin Nicole and Stacey Pearce.  He told them many stories about his life and always showed how much he loved them.
Ross taught elementary school for 29 years.  He taught at Longfellow Elementary in 4th, 5th and 6th grades.  He loved his students and delighted in their mental and physical growth.
Ross is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, son Michael and his wife Josie, daughter Heather and granddaughters Kristin and Stacey, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews .  He will be dearly missed.  The family gives a heartfelt thank you to Charter Hospice special nurses Robert and Michelle for their expert care and devotion to us.
Funeral services will be held at the Noble Ward 10305 E. Southern, Mesa 85208 on Friday, May 20, 2022.  Viewing at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m.  Internment will be at Mountain View Funeral Home with military honors, 7900 East Main, Mesa, AZ 85207.
