Joan Whiteside, 92 passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2023.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas and beloved Mother of Suzanne Marie (Michael Kiraly) Fountain Hills, AZ. Beloved twin sister of Jean O’Hara, who preceded her in death in 2011. Joanie was a testament to strength, grace and lived her life with dignity and an abundance of love and laughter. Born in Detroit Michigan, 1930 she was stricken with Polio at age 10, and never walked again unassisted. She married the love of her life, Tom in 1958 and had her only child two years later.
She worked 20 years for
for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission as a claims administrator. Once retired, she moved to Arizona to enjoy the southwest with her family. She enjoyed cruises, travel, and was an avid reader. Joanie adored nature, animals, and music. She will be deeply remembered as the brightest light, and shared an unbreakable bond with her only daughter, Suzie.
Joanie would always say, “I am so blessed”. Heaven has truly gained another angel.
