Millie (Mildred) Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Queen Creek, AZ.

Millie was born on June 30, 1942 in Bronx, New York to John and Delia Vazquez. She grew up with her siblings in Jamaica, New York. She was very intelligent and analytically minded. In junior high, she placed 2nd in New York City’s math placement for high school. Even though she was prohibited from pursuing her math education further, she did not let that stop her curiosity and desire for knowledge.

Millie searched for knowledge and truth spiritually as well. She had a deep, abiding faith that helped her withstand the storms of life. Her knowledge of the reality and divinity of our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, stayed firm throughout her life and brought her great peace.

She met her devoted husband, Larry Taylor, in the cry room at church in 1960. Not only is Larry the love of her life, she is the apple of his eye. They were married on December 24, 1963 in Queens, New York. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 22, 1965. Recently, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and were able to reflect on their years of love, laughter, and friendship together.

Millie is the cornerstone of her family; the glue that continues to bind them together. Her greatest joy in her life was being a mother, and that joy was multiplied when she became a grandmother and great-grandmother. Throughout the years, she enjoyed sharing her passion for the arts with her family and loved ones. Her creations will be treasured by the family forever.

This feisty woman was authentically herself. She was kind, witty, and fierce in her love of people. She made friends everywhere she went, whether it was church, a restaurant, or her favorite nail salon; many of these people became life-long friends. Once welcomed into her life, people had a spot there forever.

She is survived by her adoring husband; their five independent children: Christopher Andrew, Jennifer Anne, Stephanie Anne, Meredith Anne, and Samantha Anne; her 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her services will be on Tuesday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, located at 20415 E Chandler Heights Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142. There will be a viewing at 9:00 a.m. that same morning.
