It is with heavy hearts, that we must report the passing of our beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather, and Husband, James A. Carpenter Jr.

He passed away on Thursday, June 22nd, from heart and lung issues. He was born on June 1st, 1949, in Plainfield, New Jersey. His family moved to Tremonton, Utah in 1959. He attended Bear River High, and Utah State University, before serving a tour in Vietnam, with the US Army. Upon Discharge, he moved to Salt Lake City, and attended Utah Trade Tech, where he earned a degree in engineering.

He worked in the engineering department at U&I Sugar Co., before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1980. He worked at Motorola, in Scottsdale, where he was a department head in the engineering dept. He eventually settled, and retired in Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by his daughter, Rheannon Carpenter, sister, Linda “Lyn” MacCarty, brother, Frank Carpenter, and wife, Pegi Carpenter.

A graveside service will be conducted by his brother-in-law, Pastor Skip MacCarty, at the Mountain View Cemetery, in East Mesa, on Weds. June 28th, at 10:00 AM.
