March 17, 1929 – May 27, 2022

Frank E. “Pat” Haggard was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on March 17, 1929, to the late A. Dee and Addie Haggard. He left this earth on May 27, 2022, in his home in Mesa, Arizona.

Pat and late brother Bill moved to Arizona with their parents when he was 10 years old. He later graduated from Phoenix Union High School and then served his country in the Army during the Korean War. After his service, Pat attended Arizona State University and was a Sun Devil for life.

Pat was a teacher and principal for many years and his love for learning lasted until his final days. After his career in education, he purchased a Dairy Queen.

He was a charter member of the Tempe Elks lodge and was deeply immersed in the lodge’s community that would become a lifelong support group. Pat had an incredible sense of humor and was the life of every party. He was a friend to all because to know Pat was to love him.

Pat enjoyed golfing, going to the Mogollon Rim in Northern Arizona, and traveling. He traveled to all fifty states as well as several European countries.

Of all the things Pat loved, he took the most pride in being a father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jo Haggard; three children: Carla Anderson (Wayne), Doug Haggard, and Patti Traughber (Mark); five grandchildren: Jack Haggard, Rachel Traughber, Jackie Traughber, Kyle Haggard, and Leland Traughber. Pat’s happiest days were when he married his wife and built a life with their three kids. Pat and Jo were married for 62 years. He will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew him.

Services of Pat will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207.
