Queen Creek Unified School District welcomed nearly 15,000 students this week for the 2023–2024 school year. Additionally, the district welcomed three new principals at Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary, Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary and Eastmark High School. 

"What an exciting time to welcome such a wide breadth of talent and experience to our leadership team," said Superintendent Dr. Gregory Wyman. "Staff and students alike will surely benefit from their leadership and support, and we look forward to working alongside these talented professionals as we continue to move the district #Forward."

Through partnership with Sway Medical, Inc. every high school athletic trainer has access to state-of-the-art software to help provide the best care possible for their athletes.

These changes will allow the San Tan Valley school district to minimize transportation disruptions and continue to service all current bus routes despite staffing challenges with bus drivers.

After the first day of school is over, take a moment to celebrate with your students. Ask them what they experienced, what they learned, who they met. Reflect on the positive aspects of the day you establish a sense of accomplishment in your student.

There are many proactive things parents can do now to help get their kids ready for their first day of kindergarten.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement announces new Momentum Maker grant opportunity for Arizona schools to help address mental health across the state. The foundation will be accepting applications through Aug. 10.
