Crismon High band, choir, orchestra, symphony shine at Worldstrides Heritage Festival

They were part of the 1,800-plus music students from around the country that performed at the festival. Students and directors, Scott Lloyd and Shannon Pizzirusso, have accomplished a lot in their first year. Their final concert of the year is Wednesday, May 10 at 6 p.m. in the Crismon Auditorium. Come see them perform and stay for food trucks after the performance.

The Crismon High School band, choir, orchestra and symphony performed and competed recently in the Worldstrides Heritage Festival in Anaheim, Calif.

They were part of the 1,800-plus music students from around the country who performed at the festival.

Students took home the following honors:

  • Band, Silver Rating, First Place.
  • Choir, Gold Rating, Secnd Place.
  • Orchestra, Silver Rating, Second Place.
  • Symphony, Silver Rating, First Place.

Crismon started a light show at the awards ceremony and got the entire theater of 2,000 people to join in.

The special "Maestro" Award for outstanding individual performances was given to 10 students from the festival, and one went to Crismon choir soloist Paisley Brown.
