The most effective method of controlling a digging problem is to create a small digging pit for your dog.

“We are working diligently with the cases and their healthcare providers to identify any potential exposures and notify people who were exposed promptly,” said Dr. Nick Staab, medical epidemiologist at MCDPH. “The most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to get vaccinated against measles if you have not already been vaccinated.”

Both dogs are altered, licensed, microchipped and up-to-date on their vaccinations. Typical adoption fees would be about $350 each, but to help these two stay together Friends for Life has reduced their adoption fee to $200 each.

Trash and recycling services will not be impacted by the holiday.

The opening reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, featuring an artist meet-and-greet and live music.

“Route 66’s colorful history, quirky attractions, lively dining and beautiful landscapes are the types of treasures that beg to be shared,” said Debbie Johnson, director of the Arizona Office of Tourism. “Our latest passport is a perfect invitation to explore it for the first time or get reacquainted and find something new.”  

GateWay, part of the Maricopa Community College system, has several locations around Phoenix.

The first opportunity players will have to do that comes Sept. 2 as ALA faces off against Verrado High School in its opening game. The team’s first game in front of its home crowd comes two weeks later on Sept. 16 against South Mountain High School.
