Queen Creek couple open second Dog Haus in East Valley

Andi and Damon Ott say they're eyeing Queen Creek for a future Dog Haus location.

Queen Creek residents Andi and Damon Ott are hosting the grand opening tomorrow of their second Dog Haus location in the East Valley.

In 2019, the franchisee owners opened their first Dog Haus in Gilbert at SanTan Village. Now, they've opened a 2,240-square-foot, custom-designed Chandler restaurant at 2780 W. Chandler Blvd., which features a full bar with 24 rotating beers on tap (with a list that emphasizes local craft beer favorites) and will serve the brand’s signature "Haus Cocktails."

"At present, we hold the development rights for three additional (Dog Haus) locations and are thrilled to continue expanding the Absolute Würst brand in the East Valley," said Andi Ott. "As a small family business, we are adopting a gradual approach of one-location-at-a-time to ensure each restaurant delivers a quality experience that reflects our pride. While we haven’t secured our next location yet, Queen Creek is a leading contender, and ideally it will be our next destination."

The Dog Haus craft casual concept, known for its one-of-a-kind hot dogs, has an extensive menu, including gourmet all beef hot dogs, handcrafted sausages, humanely-raised, Creekstone Farms Black Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, wings and tenders, local craft beers, breakfast burritos and even plant-based options.

To celebrate the grand opening, the Ott family is inviting the community in for a day full of freebies on Saturday, Aug. 5 for “The Absolute Würst” celebration, kicking off at 8 a.m. until closing time at 2 a.m. Start the morning at 8 a.m. with free Haus burritos for the first 100 guests. Plus, enjoy $3 boozy brunch beverages until 11 a.m. as well. Following breakfast specials, stop by for free Haus Dogs beginning at 11 a.m. until closing time at 2 a.m. And even more fun, beginning at 10 p.m., Dog Haus will offer $2 draft pints and well drinks in addition to half off hand-crafted Haus cocktails – created by Phil Wills from Bar Rescue – until close at 2 a.m.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of our second Dog Haus location in the East Valley and can’t wait to continue our involvement in the community with our delicious all beef Haus Dogs, handcrafted proprietary Haus Sausages and Creekstone Farms Black Angus beef burgers,” Andi Ott added. “Our team of both new and veteran employees are excited to be welcomed in Chandler. In addition to the great food and wide selection of craft beers, we have a wonderful dog-friendly patio for all your al fresco dining needs.”

The brand’s mission to sustainably feed everyone who walks through their doors, Dog Haus also offers plant-based burgers from Impossible Foods and sausage proteins from Beyond Meat. The menu also includes crave-worthy sausages, smash-style burgers, corn dogs, chicken sandwiches, wings and tenders, loaded sides, cocktails, beer and shakes. Sausage favorites include The Fonz, which partners a spicy Italian sausage with pastrami and mozzarella cheese, and Das Brat, which features a bratwurst topped with caramelized onions, sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard. All Dog Haus’ sausages and hot dogs are free from added nitrates and nitrites and made with hormone- and antibiotic-free certified Black Angus beef.
