Nordstrom Rack officially opens in Queen Creek Marketplace May 16

The clothing retailer will join Target, Kohls, Harkins Theatres and several other national brands at the 900,000-square-foot Queen Creek shopping center.

Nordstrom Rack officially opens its doors on Thursday, May 16 in Queen Creek at the Queen Creek Marketplace, located at the southwest corner of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth Loop roads.

"We look forward to opening this new Nordstrom Rack location in Queen Creek, strengthening our network of stores and introducing new customers to Nordstrom Rack's unique product offering," said Carl Jenkins, senior vice president of Nordstrom Rack Stores. "In addition to shopping great brands at great prices, our customers in Queen Creek can take full advantage of this convenient new location to pick-up online orders and make returns."

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Seattle-based fashion retailer Nordstrom, Inc. and plays a critical role in the company's Closer to You strategy, which focuses on delivering customers a more convenient and interconnected experience across its stores and digital platforms.

This new Queen Creek store spans 28,025 square feet and features famous brands up to 70% off apparel, accessories and shoes for the whole family. With the addition of this new location, Nordstrom will operate 10 Nordstrom Rack stores and one Nordstrom store in Arizona.

"The store officially opens to the public on Thursday, May 16 at 9 a.m., with a grand opening celebration featuring light bites, gift card giveaways, a DJ, beauty activations and more," said Kacy Galisdorfer, senior PR specialist for Nordstrom. "Grand opening festivities begin at 8 a.m. in the morning before the doors open at 9 a.m. We expect customers to line up early, and we will have a fun spin-to-win game going on all morning."

According to Galisdorfer, Nordstrom Rack partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, hosting participants in the new Queen Creek store to shop for the spring season on Tuesday, May 14 before it opened to the public. They hosted "Littles in the store. Each Little (received) a gift card to shop the store for themselves and their families on Tuesday. Nordstrom Rack has donated more than $1.5 million in support of its long-term partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters. These proceeds support the recruitment, training and engagement of adult mentors and mentorship moments between Bigs and Littles, including preparing for an interview, learning to tie a tie and helping with homework."

Tuesday's invite-only preview provided early access to explore the 28,025-square-foot store, featuring popular brands at great prices and up to 70% off apparel, accessories and shoes for the whole family. The store gets new deliveries every week, so customers can find new and exciting products every time they visit with 90% of the same brands available at Nordstrom. Customers will be able to find the newest trends from Frame, Sam Edelman, Madewell and more ranging from denim to spring outerwear to running sneakers and more. Nordstrom Rack also expanded its beauty assortment in the last year, and customers can now shop beauty brand favorites like M.A.C., Kate Somerville, Murad, Too Faced, Urban Decay, NYX Cosmetics, Shiseido, DryBar and more.

Nordstrom Rack joins Sephora, Handel’s Ice Cream, Reformed Pilates, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Little Flippers Swim School, all of which have opened at the Queen Creek Marketplace in the last six months. Those are in addition to national brands such as Target, Kohls, Harkins Theatres, Trader Joe’s and more.

"We look forward to welcoming a new assortment of retailers including Nordstrom Rack to Queen Creek Marketplace. This addition not only enhances our shoppers' experience but also underscores our commitment to bringing top-tier brands to the community, solidifying Queen Creek Marketplace as a premier shopping destination," said Angie Kory, vice president of leasing for Vestar, owner of the Queen Creek Marketplace.

Additionally, Nordstrom Rack will benefit from the favorable location of Queen Creek Marketplace which is conveniently located within a five-mile radius of more than 150,000 residents. Queen Creek Marketplace has become a retail destination for families, shoppers and diners alike.

With a focus on providing a diverse and dynamic retail environment, Vestar continues to attract nationally recognized brands to its portfolio, ensuring that residents have access to the best retail and dining experiences.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nordstrom Rack to Queen Creek Marketplace. They are the perfect addition to our well blended tenant mix and expect they will be well received by our growing community. Queen Creek Marketplace is positioned well in terms of overall traffic and activity and continues to expand and grow, seeing 7.6 million visits to the center annually. Retailers recognize the continued growth in housing and development within the Town of Queen Creek and are enthusiastic about the future," said Angela Manca, property manager at Queen Creek Marketplace.

Nordstrom Rack is filling the void in the local shopping center left by homeware giant Bed Bath & Beyond shuttering the space after filing for bankruptcy in early 2023. The off-price department store chain Nordstrom Rack, founded in 1973 as the sister brand to the luxury department store chain Nordstrom, operates 348 stores in 41 U.S. states.

The new Nordstrom Rack is located in the Queen Creek Marketplace, at 21258 S. Ellsworth Loop Road.
