Shirley June Beatty, 89, passed away Saturday 26 March 2022, after suffering a stroke. Shirley was born Shirley June Williams in Akron, Ohio, 11 June 1932. She married William C Beatty in November 1948, and moved to Arizona in 1954.
She is survived by her son, William D Beatty of Pinetop AZ. She is preceded in death by her husband, William C Beatty, her parents Sanford L Williams and Edith M Seelye Williams, her daughter Rebecca L Beatty Barnett, and her son Alan D Beatty. Shirley enjoyed living independently and was socially active in the Solera development in Chandler AZ. She enjoyed playing mahjong, cards, and socializing with her many friends. Shirley worked for several years at Motorola in Mesa, and for the Round Valley School district in Springerville AZ. One of the highlights of her life was after retirement when she and her husband spent seven years touring the USA in their Fifth Wheel trailer rig, making it to Alaska twice.
Shirley and her husband were active for years in the Valley Boat and Ski Club in the Phoenix area, making many lifelong friends. Shirley enjoyed a full life with her share of both happiness and tragedy. She has several grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, 9 April 2022 at 1100am, at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E Main Street, Mesa AZ.
