September 30, 1940 – January 3, 2022

It is with deep sympathy that the family of Sandra Lee Trano announces her passing at the age of 81 on January 3, 2022.

Born on September 30, 1940, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, she was a graduate of Edison High School. She lived and worked in northeast Minneapolis the first part of her life where she worked as a butcher, a bowling coach, and a pharmacy clerk. She later worked in the printing industry.

She married Lee Trano in 1994 and they moved to Wisconsin to a lake home. They enjoyed traveling and took trips to her favorite places like New Orleans; Las Vegas; Gulf Shores, Alabama and anywhere near or on the water. She especially enjoyed cruising.

Sandy and Lee purchased a home in Mesa, Arizona in 2008, and moved there fulltime in 2019. They have enjoyed all their friends and neighbors, which included some of her school classmates, longtime friends, and lake home friends.

Always the social butterfly, Sandy belonged to many organizations: the Lions, red hat, homemakers, and TOPS, amongst others. She loved animals, especially dogs and had many beloved dogs through the years.

Sandy was the life of any party or event and her sharp wit (and tongue) were legendary. She brought fun and smiles into any room she entered. She will be missed.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Floranda and Russell Parks, and is survived by her husband, Lee Trano, daughters Pamela McIlroy, Victoria Wise, and Jennifer (Mats) Bergqvist, step-children Angela (Mike) Trano Wurm, Cameron Trano, Brandon Trano, Reagan Trano (Francisca), six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the reception room at the Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa. A private interment will take place at a later date in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Arizona Animal Humane Society.
