September 24, 1941 – April 3, 2022

Norma Klapka, a long time resident of Fairbanks, Alaska passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2022 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Klapka. Norma is survived by her daughters, Frances Mary Klapka Callahan (Aren George Callahan) and Maritza M. Hargett (William Scott Hargett) Grandkids: William Joseph Hargett (Jayme Hargett), Madison Renee Hargett, Alaina Maria Callahan, Maritza Isabella Callahan and Evelyn Anneliese Callahan, great grandson: William Ryser Hargett. Nieces and Nephews: Joel Espinal (Waldina Espinal) and children, Emma Espinal and children, Oscar Espinal (Karin Espinal) and child,  Fredy Omar Espinal and children, Norma Jackeline Espinal, Doris Yolanda Espinal, Delma Espinal and children, Alexander Espinal (Elsa Espinal) and children, Orestes Espinal (Carmen Espinal) and children, Rigoberto Espinal (Caridad Espinal) and children.

Norma was born in Apacilagua, Honduras to Maria de Jesus Aguilera Espinal and Eliseo Espinal on September 24, 1941. She pursued her teaching degree at a very young age and then she moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in May of 1975, when she married Joseph Klapka and became a homemaker.  She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend. Norma enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing and spending time with family, especially her grandkids. She was involved in church activities and loved to help people in any way she could. Norma was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed but never forgotten.

She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday April 9th. Visitation at 1:00 pm, Service at 2 pm.
