Jeffrey Todd Nelson died on April 3rd, 2024, at Mercy Gilbert Hospital from pancreatitis and kidney failure.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Jenny; daughter, Macy Adams; son, Shane Nelson; stepsons, Ammon, Aaron, and Asher Durtschi; mother, Laurel Nelson; sister, Stacey Kunz; brother, Del Nelson; and grandchildren, Aurora and Coy Adams.  He was preceded in death by his father, George Nelson.

Jeff was born in Norwalk, California, attended Laguna Hills High School in Laguna Hills, California, and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho.  He attended ITT Technical Institute and Mesa Community College.

Jeff served a two-year mission in the Netherlands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was married to Stephanie Christ, with whom he had two children, Macy, and Shane. They later divorced. His biggest pride and joys were his grandchildren, Aurora and Coy.

Jeff loved all types of music, but his all-time favorite was anything from the 80’s.  This love of music led him to his favorite career.  As a Professional Events DJ, Jeff planned and executed over 3,000 weddings.  He loved making every bride and groom’s dreams come true through the magic of his music and lighting.  He thought it quite remarkable that he worked each day doing the thing that he absolutely loved.

When he wasn’t being a DJ, Jeff was often found helping others.  He never tired of serving family and friends, as well as his fellow members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It was his willingness to step in at the last minute to DJ a church young adult dance that led him to his career as a DJ.

On his Facebook page, Jeff described himself this way:  “I’m a God fearing, super friendly, Hard working & loving Husband to an amazing wife Jenny.  5K & 2 g.k.”

Funeral services for Jeff will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 32584 N Gary Road, San Tan Valley, AZ 85144.  Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m.  Luncheon to immediately follow.
