Jean Van Buren passed away at the age of 92, on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Mesa, AZ.
Known for her positive attitude, kind heart, and sense of humor, Jean’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her children, David (Wendy), their children, Dustin (Amy) Aro, Christopher (Kendall) Aro, Kelsie ( Dustyn) Halvorson; Thomas Aro, his children, with former wife, Jennifer, Nicholas (Taylor) Aro, Elizabeth (Brent) Harris; Kathryn (Chuck) Stoffregen, their children, Laura (Ryan) Smith, Erika Kott; Nancy Austin, and Jerry Austin and their children, Michael Austin, Emily Austin; Janice Van Buren, daughter of George, from a previous marriage; 15 great-grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Irene Andresen; her sister, Barbara Mead; husband, George Van Buren, and former husband, Maynard Aro.
You are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honor on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E University Dr Mesa, AZ, 85205. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
There will be a service in Superior, Wisconsin, at a later date, with interment at the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
