Deeva Rene Townsend, a unique and amazing Grammy, Mother, and Friend, passed away on March 8, 2023 with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Valorie Wilson (Shawn) & Kathryn Matthews (Richard), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is being greeted in heaven by her parents, siblings, granddaughter, and multiple close family friends.
Deeva was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1953, to Faye Evans and Ronald Chevalier. She moved to Eloy, AZ in 1971 where she graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School the same year. She retired from the Pinal County Attorney’s Office and became a full-time Grammy.
She loved playing bingo, reading books, drinking coffee, having sleepovers with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, little vacations, working as a cashier, taking care of others, and talking to everyone about everything. She made friends everywhere she went.
