December 13, 1933 – July 25, 2022

Alice E. (Lowe) Fadden, a long time winter visitor and resident of 200 West in Viewpoint RV and Golf Resort, passed away Monday afternoon July 25th, at Canyon Winds Memory Care Center in Mesa of complications of Alzheimer’s Dementia, with her loved ones by her side.

She was born in Millbury, Worcester County, Mass.  December 13, 1933 to Howard B. Lowe and Marjory K. (Preston) Lowe.  she grew up in that area and graduated from Millbury High School in 1951.  She worked in the area as a secretary before marrying Richard Fadden in 1953 and had three children, Richard, Jane, and baby Alice (who died shortly after birth).   During their married life, the Fadden’s lived mostly in Richmond and Keene, New Hampshire.

Later in life, she lived in Pensacola, Florida for many years before joining her long time friend, Bill Arnold, in AZ and Mass after Bill’s wife died.  She enjoyed traveling with Bill with the 5th wheel RV for 11 years before they settled down for 4 years as permanent Viewpoint residents.

While she was at Viewpoint she was a fixture riding her 3 wheel trike around the park and riding on the VP tram train that bill drove all kinds of events.

She was an avid cribbage player throughout her life.  whenever there was a lull somewhere, out came the cards and board.  She taught Bill to play, and they played while enjoying their glass of wine.  She played with the VP group until her dementia prevented her continuing.  She did do one very, very rare thing in that she dealt 2 perfect 29 cribbage hands, one to Rick and one to Bill.  She received a perfect 29 hand herself many years ago while living in south Florida.

Besides the cribbage, she enjoyed bingo in the park and the dinner shows during the season.  She also loved shopping at the Country Store at VP.  She also love tootling around in the valley in Bill’s Model T Ford.   For many years she also enjoyed being with the Fat Willy’s Group for Sunday evening dinner.

She is survived by her two children, Rick of Stoddard, NH and Jane of Sevierville, TN and her older sister Phyllis of Sturbridge, MA, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, baby Alice and younger sister Susan Gover of Lisbon, NH.

Cremation and arrangements are by Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 e. Main St., Mesa, AZ.  A memorial service for local friends will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 4th at 3pm.
