Queen Creek Unified School District hosts monthly job fairs

Last month's first job fair of the 2023-2024 school year had 30 job seekers in attendance at the QCUSD office. The next job fair will be on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

The Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) hosts a job fair every month and invites full- and part-time job seekers to the district office to meet with prospective employers and learn about what it’s like to work for the local school district.

“QCUSD is a desirable district because, first and foremost, the family atmosphere and how we support one another, our students, and the greater community,” said Director of Human Resources Keegan Bassett. “In addition, we offer competitive wages and benefits that lead to lifelong careers that cause an impact for the greater good of the community.”

QCUSD hosted its first job fair of the 2023-2024 school year in August with 30 job seekers in attendance. Available positions included instructional assistants, child nutrition assistants, custodians, security guards and more.

“The benefit of going to a job fair would be you can see a wide variety of positions that are available throughout the Queen Creek Unified School District,” said Desert Mountain Community Education Facilitator Kandice Aspinall. “We are a growing district with lots of job openings in various locations and different parts of education so there's lots of opportunities for people.”

Representatives from schools and departments across the district meet one-on-one with prospective candidates at these job fairs to discuss open positions, answer questions, and possibly interview the applicants who attend. There is even a chance applicants will leave the job fair with a “golden ticket” or letter of intent to join QCUSD.

“This is actually the first job fair that I’ve been to,” said Megan Urven, a prospective job candidate. “I like that the job fair is very open and you can go to whichever table interests you and get an on-the-spot interview. It’s all very nice and friendly.”

Urven recently moved to Queen Creek and is hoping to find work as an instructional assistant in the same place where her children go to school.

Visit the QCUSD job portal to view current openings and apply online or come to the next job fair on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
