Queen Creek marching band teacher wins final Fulton Homes’ School Salute Honor this school year

Crismon High School's esteemed marching band teacher Scott Lloyd was awarded a $1,000 grant this week as the April winner of Fulton Homes’ School Salute, marking the last honoree of a year-long journey celebrating outstanding educators across the Valley.

Scott Lloyd, the esteemed marching band teacher at Crismon High School in Queen Creek, is the April winner of Fulton Homes’ School Salute, marking the last honoree of a year-long journey celebrating outstanding educators across the Valley.

Lloyd’s dedication and passion earned him the prestigious honor and a $1,000 grant for the school’s arts program. Lloyd was surprised with a large check during his class on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m., presented by DJ personality Niko, from Big 94.5 radio.

An alumnus of the University of Southern California, where he showcased his musical talent as a trumpet player in the band, Lloyd became an icon among students and faculty alike. Described as a karaoke enthusiast and devoted USC Trojans fan in his nomination entry, Lloyd consistently exceeds expectations by inspiring his students to pursue excellence while fostering a love for learning in the Queen Creek Unified School District.

Lloyd’s personal journey took him from a successful engineering career to education, to follow his passion for music. An accomplished singer, guitarist and trumpet player, he spends his free time exploring local restaurants with his wife and enjoying moments with his Dachshund.

Throughout his professional career, Lloyd has remained steadfast in his mission to guide young minds in discovering their voice and purpose through the transformative power of music.

In recognition of this honor, Crismon High School will receive a $1,000 grant, with the school’s music program highlighted on 94.5 KOOL-FM throughout the entire month.

Doug Fulton, chief executive officer of Fulton Homes, underscores the significance of extracurricular pursuits like music and the arts in fostering a sense of community within schools.

“Instructors like Mr. Lloyd are the cornerstone of our community, bringing students together and forming bonds that last a lifetime,” he said.

Crismon High School is located in Queen Creek at 21942 E. Riggs Road.
