QCUSD superintendent receives Changemaker Award

"I represent a staff full of great people working in great structures toward a common vision and winning the award is a testament that validates the great work that happens every single day in my school district," said Queen Creek Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry.

Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry is the recipient of a state-wide award for his work in connecting district leaders and initiatives with community organizers and stakeholders.

School Connect, an organization that connects schools to communities across Arizona, awarded Berry with the Changemaker Award, a recognition for superintendents as part of their School Connect Champions of Education Awards. The award honors a superintendent who brings innovative solutions to their entire district; building networks of support across multiple sectors to create diverse and powerful growth.

QCUSD hosts quarterly Community and Family Engagement events to connect principals with local nonprofit groups, as well as Business Partner Breakfasts, Interfaith events, and career panel events to strengthen partnerships between schools and the surrounding community.

Berry says the award represents the work of the administrators, faculty and staff members who make a difference for students every day.

"I represent a staff full of great people working in great structures toward a common vision and winning the award is a testament that validates the great work that happens every single day in my school district," said Berry.
