QCUSD recognizes students, employees of the month

November students and employees of the month are from Jack Barnes Elementary and Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary schools.

The Queen Creek Unified School District recently recognized its November students and employees of the month at Jack Barnes Elementary and Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary schools.

Students of the month for November are:

Lily Campos, Jack Barnes Elementary. "Lily is a helpful girl. She is also smart and hard-working, and she participates in all lessons, all day, every day," said her teacher, Mrs. LaPorte.

Charles Ford, Jack Barnes Elementary. "I feel so lucky to have Charles as a part of our class. He definitely deserves to be recognized as student of the month." said his teacher, Mrs. Clonts.

Sadie Weitekamp, Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary. "Sadie continues to amaze me each and every day with the kindness she shows her friends, classmates, peers and teachers at KMBE," said her teacher, Ms. Harwood.

Orion McMeen, Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary. "Everyone in the class loves being around Orion and enjoys everything he has to say. He never takes himself too seriously and loves to have fun," said his teacher, Mr. Mosier.

Jack Barnes Elementary School - Employee of the Month (Power of One Award)

  • Christine Liberatore - “Christine shows exceptional support to both teachers and students, contributing to the overall success of our educational programs. She works directly with students, providing needed assistance to help those students reach their academic goals.”
  • Kandace Reyes - “Kandace possesses a remarkable ability to engage and inspire her students. She creates a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.”
  • Tomas Feldhake - “Tomas played an instrumental role in our campus beautification and upgrades that occurred in the winter/spring, providing leadership and communication throughout the entire process. He has excellent interpersonal skills, interacting effectively with team members, administration and other departments. Tomas shows he cares about each campus and takes ownership and pride in his work.”
  • Kelly Andrus - “Kelly has been an invaluable member of our PTO, consistently going above and beyond in her volunteer roles. Her creativity, attention to detail, and leadership skills have greatly contributed to the success of these endeavors.”

Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary - Employee of the Month (Power of One Award)

  • Jessie Nichols - “Jessie is the glue that keeps our front office running smoothly! She helps out when and where she can. She has stepped up to the challenge of taking on and learning new duties in the front office with grace, commitment and efficiency.”
  • Phil Tran - “Mr. Tran excels in his role as an educator. He is always going above and beyond to help meet the needs of his students. As a coworker, we can always count on Phill to be a helping hand.”
  • Lisa Grant - “Lisa has been a huge support to new teachers at KMBE! As our district ELA mentor, Lisa has gone the extra mile to ensure that the new teachers feel confident and successful in the classroom.”
  • Shanna Kauffman - “Shanna always goes above and beyond to volunteer in the school and is very committed to helping out the teachers, staff and PTO. She is amazing at creating whatever is needed and is always willing to help where she can. She is so kind and more than deserving of this award.”
