QCUSD recognized its December students, employees of the month

The Queen Creek Unified School District December students and employees of the month are from Queen Creek Elementary and Schnepf Elementary schools.

Before winter break, the Queen Creek Unified School District recognized its December students and employees of the month from Queen Creek Elementary and Schnepf Elementary schools.

Here's what those who nominated them had to say about each awardee:

  • Jeter Ward – "Jeter comes into the classroom each morning quickly, unpacks and gets to work on the Number of the Day. After he is finished, he gets out a book and quietly reads until class begins. Jeter is always a hard worker and stays focused. He is a good example to his classmates and also a good friend."
  • Nina Luna – "Nina displays kindness and respect to staff and all students. She comes to school with a smile and maintains a positive attitude throughout her day. She is always eager to learn. She always puts forth her best efforts and produces quality work. When Nina is struggling, she is persistent and puts in extra time and effort to learn. When she notices a peer is struggling academically or behaviorally, she’ll use kind words to motivate them."
  • Elannimalan Elanchezhian Shobana – "Elan is an outstanding role model in our classroom and Schnepf Elementary. Elan works hard and always has an amazing attitude by encouraging others. He represents our Schnepf qualities of showing kindness, respect and integrity. Elan is the perfect example of what a Schnepf Trailblazer should be." 
  • Emery Rowley – "Emery is an amazing student and leader at Schnepf Elementary. Emery is a positive role model who works hard, and always has an amazing attitude by encouraging others around her. She represents our motto of showing kindness, respect and integrity and is a great example of what a Schnepf Trailblazer should be."
  • Dana Llewellyn from Queen Creek Elementary – "Dana has jumped in this year with the data specialist position. Her commitment to students and QCE has helped to improve our PLC process and daily instruction within the classroom."
  • Annette Gump from Queen Creek Elementary – "Mrs. Gump shows a commitment to QCE on a daily basis. She supports both students and staff in our media center. She spends time daily in the cafeteria, supervising students and is always willing to provide helping hand with a smile on her face."
  • Sandra Millan from Queen Creek Elementary – "Sandra goes above and beyond in service and commitment. She has organized and put in numerous hours to support events that bring the community and school together."
  • Robin Bayles from Queen Creek Elementary – Robin has been supported in working with all of our teams. She has worked closely with our data specialist in improving PLC time and utilizing data in order to move QCE students forward."
  • Jill Moffat from Schnepf Elementary – "Jill is exemplary as a teacher and employee in every way. She continues to serve our school in multiple ways including leading in the area of PBIS and helping SES make ground as a Leader in Me campus. Jill lives the Schnepf Elementary’s mission of cultivating the unique potential of each individual for personal excellence as leaders of themselves and others. She is positive, uplifts her teammates, and is a highly valued and respected educator and leader."
  • Heather Doerfler from Schnepf Elementary – "Heather is kind, goes above and beyond to support students, teachers, and families and is a ray of sunshine to all who walk through our doors. She has excelled in her role at the front office and is amazing at handling challenges in a solution-focused way that focuses on customer service. She is incredibly gracious and is an excellent representative of our Schnepf Elementary community in all areas."
  • Britney Thorne from Schnepf Elementary – "Brit does an amazing job with Schnepf Elementary PTO and serves as the vice president. She has gone above and beyond to support such events as the book fair, co-led our first Fall Festival and arranges monthly fundraising spirit nights. From successful student and family events, field days, Step it Up fundraisers and PBIS parties, Brit does it ALL! She is positive and supportive of students, staff and families."
  • Kerry Kester from Schnepf Elementary – "Kerry has provided invaluable support for our math PLCs and to our sixth grade team. She has shared resources, provided coaching support and has actively mentored teachers. Kerry jumps in, rolls up her sleeves, and is always ready to help."
