Open House Night is an event offering the parents and students of the Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) a special chance to understand the inner workings of their school. It's more than a teacher meet-and-greet; it's a valuable experience to explore the learning environment, grasp academic expectations and strengthen the partnership between educators and families.

QCUSD’s all-school open house Jan. 23 will be from 4 to 6 p.m. for elementary schools, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for junior high schools (including Eastmark High School and Crismon High School) and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for high schools.

Meet and greet

Open House Night serves as a welcoming platform for parents and students to meet the teachers and staff who contribute to the educational experience. This initial meet-and-greet will help establish a connection between families and educators.

Classroom tours

Parents and students will have the opportunity to tour various classrooms. These tours provide insight into the physical learning space, allowing parents to visualize where their children spend a significant part of their day. Teachers often use this time to showcase student projects and create a dynamic snapshot of the learning environment.

Curriculum insights

Educators will outline the curriculum for the academic year, which includes what subjects will be covered, classroom expectations and how to prepare for the next school year.

Q&A opportunities

A dedicated question-and-answer session will give parents and students the chance to seek clarification on any concerns or inquiries they may have. This open dialogue promotes transparency and allows for a deeper understanding of the school's policies and procedures.

Showcasing extracurriculars

Beyond academics, Open House Night often highlights the school's extracurricular activities, clubs and sports. Parents and students can learn about opportunities for involvement outside the classroom, encouraging a well-rounded approach to education.
