Perry High's Puma Nation becomes 'Brock Nation' in celebration of alum Purdy's NFL success

School's main street entrance, Perry Puma Drive, renamed Brock Purdy Way in honor of the Puma Nation alum and San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback in today's big game.

Queen Creek native Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback, is leading his team this Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas (Feb. 11, 2024) and this past week, the entire community has been celebrating the hometown hero. Purdy, 24, was a standout quarterback at Chandler Unified's Perry High School in Gilbert, where he set records during his 2017 high school season. So it's understandable how excited Puma Nation has been this past week. They renamed the school's main street entrance, Perry Puma Drive, to Brock Purdy Way in honor of the Puma Nation standout. Then, 2011 alum, Kyle Narducci, who owns local Heart and Hook apparel, decided to take the celebration a step further and supplied the entire student body with "Brock Nation" shirts that everyone wore on Friday.
