Eastmark High School's (EHS) Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter made history this school year by hosting the largest blood drive ever seen at the Queen Creek Unified school.
Surpassing their initial goal of 45 donors, this event achieved an impressive 137% of the blood product goal. The potential impact of these donations is substantial, potentially saving up to 97 lives in the local community’s hospitals.
HOSA's core mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to contribute to the community's health and well-being. By organizing the blood drive, HOSA students demonstrated their commitment to fostering leadership skills and engagement in healthcare-related activities. Their contributions to this critical event were successful and highly appreciated.
“Organizing a blood drive allows HOSA members to give back to the community by contributing to a critical need in healthcare,” said HOSA club advisor Rachel Connary. “Donating blood saves lives and by hosting a blood drive, HOSA members actively participate in this life-saving effort.”
