The free neighborhood event is open to local families, including those interested in exploring enrollment at ASU Prep’s Polytechnic campus, one of 12 area schools within the ASU Preparatory Academy network. Tasty food truck treats and cool prize giveaways will add to the excitement.

ASU Prep’s Polytechnic campus in southeast Mesa, near Queen Creek, is celebrating 16 years of service to students with a “Sweet 16” birthday bash on Jan. 19. Not only will the party feature music and entertainment, but guests can also enjoy free family-friendly activities throughout the fun-filled evening.

From 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. today youth of all ages will have the chance to show they’ve got game when they step up to the video game trucks. Then, they can get hands-on with STEM and robotics demos, burn off some energy in the bounce houses and pop into the photo booth to create a memento commemorating the event.

Tasty food truck treats and cool prize giveaways will add to the excitement. Families can also explore a student showcase and take guided tours of ASU Prep Poly STEM High School, located at 7330 E. Innovation Way South.

The free neighborhood event is open to local families, including those interested in exploring enrollment at ASU Prep’s Polytechnic campus, one of 12 area schools within the ASU Preparatory Academy network. As the first ASU Prep Academy to open in 2008, ASU Prep Poly started with a vision to immerse students in STEM-centered learning starting in elementary grades, with a location right on the ASU Polytechnic college campus. Since then, school leaders have focused on the goal of creating successful pathways to college while building a culture of student achievement and collaboration.

Registration for the free event is required and may be completed online at asuprepevents.com or at the door. Attendees who pre-register will be eligible for special drawings, including an iPad and other cool prizes.
