Veterans Club at Encanterra event will celebrate veterans Nov. 11

On Thursday, Nov. 11, the Veterans Club at Encanterra in Queen Creek will be celebrating and honoring past, present and future veterans.

On Thursday, Nov. 11, the Veterans Club at Encanterra in Queen Creek will be celebrating and honoring past, present and future veterans.

The event will start at 9 a.m. with the National Anthem, followed by Taps. There will be a reading of a statement for MIA and POWs.

Afterwards, the Encanterra Chorale will sing three patriotic songs and the flags of each veteran branch will be presented.

Jerry Kolesiak, president of the Veterans Club, will have a few comments on the meaning of Veterans Day.

A breakfast will follow for all attendees.

After breakfast all eligible veterans will be presented with the Vietnam Veterans 50th Anniversary Pin. To receive this pin the veteran needed to be on active duty in any military branch and in location between Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975. There will also be a surviving spouse pin.

The pins will be presented in front of Honoring/Hiring/Helping our Heroes of Pinal County (HOHP) traveling Eagle One RV. HOHP is a Casa Grande veteran organization that gives a “hand up” to homeless veterans.

The pin will be jointly presented by the Veterans Club and Humana.
