TD SYNNEX 'Shares the Magic' with House of Refuge

Since 1996, House of Refuge, Inc. has provided families in crisis a proven path out of homelessness. Proceeds of this inaugural fundraiser will provide essential on-site social services – including special youth enrichment programming – while families reside in a peaceful neighborhood setting.

House of Refuge received a TD SYNNEX charitable donation of more than $24,700 this summer in support of their transitional housing program for homeless families with minor children in the Southeast Valley.

Since 1996, House of Refuge, Inc. has provided families in crisis a proven path out of homelessness. Proceeds of this inaugural fundraiser will provide essential on-site social services – including special youth enrichment programming – while families reside in a peaceful neighborhood setting.

TD SYNNEX raised the funds through the immensely successful Share the Magic Speakeasy Soiree held earlier this year at The White Rabbit in Gilbert, to benefit children through local charities. Vendors, customers, local businesses and members of the community gathered for Roaring '20s-style entertainment, live jazz music and the chance to show off flapper dresses and dapper suits.

The highlight of the evening was the performance of a talented jazz singer with a remarkable connection to the event. Unbeknownst to the agent who booked the talent for the venue, the lead vocalist was actually a current House of Refuge resident.

In 2022, Jackie and her two children became homeless and were later rescued by House of Refuge. The security of the transitional housing program provided the opportunity for Jackie to resume a previous musical career as an additional source of income while working toward stability for her family. Her heart-felt comments at the soiree moved the audience to tears and truly helped to share the magic of the fundraiser.

“TD SYNNEX would like to thank all our local coworkers, sponsors, community silent auction contributors and The White Rabbit for all your efforts to host this incredible event. It's heartwarming to see what a collective community can do to make a difference. Thank you to House of Refuge for making such a positive impact in the community,” said Jessica Yeck, of SVP Vendor Solutions and board chair of Share the Magic-Arizona. “Keep your eyes open for the save the date for our next event this spring.”

Kayla Kolar, president and CEO of House of Refuge, expressed sincere appreciation saying, “We are so grateful to TD SYNNEX for supporting the life-changing work that happens at House of Refuge. We see a miracle every day in our neighborhood, but we couldn’t do what we do without community partners and initiatives like Share the Magic.”
