A local family has taken their tragedy and developed the nonprofit Stephanie’s Angels to help other families in need. They're seeking players and sponsors for their May 4 Stephanie’s Angels Charity Golf Tournament four person scramble at Las Colinas Golf Club in Queen Creek.

Players and all sponsors must sign up online and donations are being accepted if you can't play in the golf tournament on Saturday, May 4. Use the attached QR code or go to stephaniesangels.org to sign up to play.

"In June of 2015, we experienced what no parent should ever have to endure. Our daughter Stephanie, and three of her children, Taylor, P.J. and Jesse, lost their lives in a horrific auto accident, while in route to a summer vacation. We established Stephanie's Angels nonprofit in hopes of turning our tragedy into something positive for families experiencing financial hardship due to job loss or the constraints of catastrophic illness in the Phoenix area," said Mark Fisk, Stephanie's mother. "We need golfers for our event to be successful."

The cost to play is $90 (including tax, $360 for a team of four) and includes breakfast and lunch, 18 holes of golf, driving range, golf cart and chances to win prizes in the raffle and auction. Las Colinas Golf Club is located in Queen Creek at 21515 E. Village Loop. Tee off is at 7 a.m.

"And 100 percent of all proceeds goes to the causes we support, to helping children and families in need locally." Fisk said. Last year, they gave a scholarship to a graduating senior at Queen Creek High School, donated shoes for Title 1 schools, as well as giving car seats to NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) babies.

Stephanie’s Angels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so all donations are tax deductible at Stephaniesangels.org. Email StephaniesangelsAZ@gmail.com with any questions.

"Stephanie's Angels is dedicated to improving the community and individual's quality of life through various ways including cooperation with established community programs and empowering volunteers to become involved in charitable acts," Fisk states on their Stephanie’s Angels website. "We support families and/or children affected by loss of income, catastrophic illness and providing necessary supplies to teachers and classrooms. Our many programs include things such as providing 'Hugging Pillows' to children suffering from serious illness or emotional distress. Providing financial assistance to families experiencing difficult times."

Fisk said Stephanie was the oldest of her three children, and her only daughter.

"She was a stay at home mom and homemaker, who also ran an online sewing business. She designed and sewed one-of-a-kind children's clothing, purses and bags."
