San Tan Valley Library offering five-week landscape design, education series

Hydrate San Tan Valley will be at San Tan Valley Library. The first class will take place this Saturday, May 13 at 9 a.m.

If you're interested in learning about landscaping your yard while conserving water, the five-week landscaping series at the San Tan Valley Library, aptly named Hydrate San Tan Valley, may be right up your alley.

The library, located at 31505 N. Schnepf Road in San Tan Valley, will host its first class on Saturday, May 13 at 9 a.m. with a session called Water Harvesting Landscape Design.

The classes will focus on teaching attendees how to make an assessment of their yard based on permaculture and water harvesting principles, and create a plan to add plants that are pleasing to the eye and thrive in arid conditions.

The sessions are sponsored by Watershed Management Group as part of Hydrate San Tan Valley's water conservation series, a program that has been providing free classes all over the Valley since 2015.

Registration is required for each individual class, but those interested are encouraged to attend all five sessions:

  • Water Harvesting Landscape Design - Saturday, May 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Selecting Native Plants for Multiple Benefits - Saturday, May 20 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
