Queen Creek to open 85-acre Frontier Family Park on June 8

This new Southeast Valley park is offering the first municipal pickleball courts in Queen Creek, a one-of-a-kind playground experience, fishing lake and more. The event will include free activities throughout the park highlighting the various amenities, music and lots of opportunities to play from 8 to 10 a.m.

The grand opening of Frontier Family Park, Queen Creek’s new 85-acre community park, will be this Saturday, June 8.

This new Southeast Valley park is offering the first municipal pickleball courts in Queen Creek, a one-of-a-kind playground experience, fishing lake and more.

Frontier Family Park offers an extensive array of amenities, including 10 ramadas, 24 pickleball courts, two basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, six ballfields and three multi-purpose fields.

The morning will kick off with a ribbon cutting at 7:30 a.m. with remarks from the mayor, project team and inclusion specialist, followed by the grand opening event. The event will include free activities throughout the park highlighting the various amenities, music and lots of opportunities to play from 8 to 10 a.m.

Located at 20039 S. 220th St., at the southwest corner of Ryan and Signal Butte roads, access to Frontier Family Park is off Signal Butte north of Queen Creek Road and 220th Street from Queen Creek Road. Parking will be available onsite (see parking map here), with overflow parking at Benjamin Franklin Charter School – Crismon Campus, located at 22120 E. Queen Creek Road.

The grand opening will include free activities throughout the park highlighting the various amenities, music, informational booths and lots of opportunities to play (see activity map here).

Frontier Family Park highlights:

  • Hours of operation will be 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Splash Pad hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (March, April, October); 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (May, June, July, September).
  • The 5-acre lake at Frontier Family Park will require a fishing license for anyone 10 years old and over.

  • Three lighted multi-purpose fields.
  • Six lighted baseball/softball fields.
  • Twenty-four lighted pickleball courts.
  • Two lighted sand volleyball courts.
  • Two lighted basketball courts.
  • One inclusive playground similar to Mansel Carter Oasis Park.
  • Ten picnic ramadas (two corporate ramadas).
