Meet your community news team

Kelly Mixer, senior reporter, has more than 25 years of experience as an award-winning and highly regarded journalist, most recently serving three years as co-creator and managing editor of MyNewsMesa.com and previously spending 11 years as executive and managing editor of the Ahwatukee Foothills News and the Pulitzer Prize-winning East Valley Tribune newspapers. Katherine Nowicki, reporter, received her master's degree in mass communications at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. She has experience with writing for local newspapers and magazines in Arizona, Nebraska and California. She most recently worked as a digital content producer at a television station in Reno, Nev.
