The Mesa Community College Nursing Program is ranked among the top 10 in Arizona for 2023 by the national nursing advocacy organization RegisteredNursing.org. MCC ranked fifth out of the 34 registered nursing programs in the state, with a score of 95.79.

It's Nurse Appreciation Week May 8-12 and the Mesa Community College Nursing Program is ranked among the top 10 in Arizona for 2023 by the national nursing advocacy organization RegisteredNursing.org.

MCC ranked fifth out of the 34 registered nursing programs in the state, with a score of 95.79, ahead of Grand Canyon University (ranked sixth), Arizona State University (ranked seventh), University of Arizona (ranked eighth) and Northern Arizona University (ranked 10th). Programs reviewed included schools offering an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Direct-Entry Masters of Science in Nursing degree.

“I’m very proud of our team and the fact that our nursing students are in demand across the country,” said MCC Nursing Program Chair Diana Breed, MSN, RN, CHSE. “Our distinguished faculty is dedicated to excellence and preparing students to be the best nurses they can be.”

The MCC Nursing Department offers an ADN, Paramedic to Registered Nurse programs and a Concurrent Enrollment Program enabling students to earn their BSN from a partner university along with their ADN.

Schools were evaluated on their support of students toward licensure and beyond, and current and historical pass rates for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Successfully passing the NCLEX-RN test is required for nursing graduates to be licensed in the U.S. and Canada.

RegisteredNursing.org ranked the nursing program at Eastern Arizona College first, followed by Estrella Mountain Community College second, Arizona College of Nursing, third, and Scottsdale Community College, fourth.
