National Work Zone Awareness Week April 15-19

The Arizona Department of Transportation is calling on motorists to be patient and alert when driving through work zones so everyone can get home safely. The theme of this year's Work Zone Awareness Week is “Work zones are temporary."

It's National Work Zone Awareness Week, April 15-19. This annual event is used to spread important safety information about the potential dangers of work zones, both for the workers operating in them and the motorists passing through.

The Town of Queen Creek is reminding residents to use caution when driving through work zones to help keep them safe for both workers and motorists. They're highlighting some work zone safety training within the Public Works Department, which includes: setting up and maneuvering through work zones; staying up to date on the current traffic control standards; road hazard response; traffic signage repair and install. The town is asking motorists to treat every work zone like it's the first time you've been through it and to slow down and avoid distractions.
