“Now more than ever, our nation's youth are dying of suicide at an alarming rate, it is our responsibility as a community to band together and bring awareness to this situation,” said Douglas Moss, president of Legacy Cares. “Thank you to COPA Health for partnering with us during Mental Health Awareness month to bring to light these serious issues.”

Legacy Cares Inc., the 501c3 organization that owns Bell Bank Park near Queen Creek, is partnering with COPA Health to host a free workshop on suicide prevention at Bell Bank Park on Wednesday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, the workshop will include training to help recognize people at-risk of harming themselves, how to talk to someone who is having these thoughts, and additional resources that are available to help.

This will be a morning event, so breakfast will be served for all event attendees. Additional details and free online registration can be found at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/legacy-cares-copa-health-suicide-prevention-forum-tickets-320300235627

Through collaboration with non-profit organizations serving youth populations in the state of Arizona, the workshop will focus on equipping attendees with the skills and knowledge necessary to stop this global issue where it begins – at home, in the classroom, and on athletic fields. As coaches, parents, teachers and friends, we have the power of collaboration at our disposal, and it is only with the help of the entire community that we can achieve the goal of ending suicide permanently in our state.

Bell Bank Park is located in Mesa at 1 Legacy Drive.
