The Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation will be hosting its inaugural Chosen Warrior Community Health Walk this weekend in Queen Creek.
From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. this Saturday, the March 18 event will take place at Schnepf Farms, located at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road.
Tickets are $25 for ages 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free. Register at chosenwarriors.org. Each walker 13 and up will receive a T-shirt the day of the event.
There is no set distance for the walking course and participants are encouraged to walk for at least 30 minutes. The public is invited and on-site parking is free.
Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who are facing life-altering circumstances such as cancer and chemotherapy.
This Community Health Walk is inspired by the many health benefits of walking, which reduces anxiety, opens the mind and helps promote healing. People of all ages, especially those facing stressful, life-changing events can benefit from walking and gentle movement.
“Walking by yourself or with friends or family is a great way to practice self care. It is really beneficial and I would like to invite the community to join us for our first walk on March 18," said Michelle Tucker, founder of the Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation.
“Families, friends and support systems in the community are vitally important to those who are fighting for their lives. Our mission is to lift them up, by sharing experiences, supporting and inspiring those of all ages facing this battle," she continued. "We hope you will join us!”
