Help combat childhood cancer with Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels 11th annual Night of Hope Gala

The colorful and meaningful event is set to take place this Saturday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels (AHRA) are gearing up for their 11th Annual Night of Hope Gala, a colorful and meaningful event set to take place Saturday, Sept. 30.

The gala will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch, located at 7500 E. Doubletree Ranch Road in Scottsdale.

The Night of Hope Gala is not only a vibrant and stylish black-tie-optional affair but also serves a noble cause. It is a significant fundraising event that aims to provide essential financial support for the mission and services of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels.

The organization offers a wide range of services to childhood cancer warriors and their families, including Comfort and Care counseling, Comfycozy's for Chemo apparel, financial assistance and major distraction events.

Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels was founded by Lorraine Tallman, who lost her daughter and husband to cancer. Tallman's personal experience led her to establish this organization with a heartfelt commitment to supporting families in ways she wished she had been supported during her own challenging times. She emphasizes the importance of individual health, well-being and self-care during the stressful journey of battling childhood cancer.

“This gala recognizes the important work that our staff, volunteers and donors do in support of our community and those affected by childhood cancer,” Tallman said. “It is a tribute to my daughter and husband's legacies and our commitment to making this journey a little easier for others.”

The Night of Hope Gala's success is made possible through the generous support of sponsors who underwrite the evening's expenses. A range of event sponsorship opportunities is currently available, with contributions starting at $1,000 and going up to $25,000.

For those interested in becoming sponsors and contributing to the cause, more information can be found at amandahope.org/gala. Tables and tickets for the gala are also available for purchase on the website. Individual tickets start at $375, with VIP and 10-person table tickets available.

A highlight of the gala is the silent auction, which opens Friday, Sept. 22. Notably, participants do not need to attend the event in person to participate in the auction. To place bids, individuals are encouraged to download the free HandBid app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. First-time users can easily register, while previous users can sign in to their accounts.

For those unable to attend the gala but still eager to support AHRA, donations to assist warrior families can be made online at amandahope.org/gala or by mailing a check to 340 E. Coronado Road, Suite 100, Phoenix.

Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels (AHRA) is a Phoenix-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to support and educate. Founded in 2012, it is a living celebration of Amanda Hope’s life.

Amanda, who fought leukemia for three years and battled a brain tumor for nine months, dreamed of creating a fun clothing line for children undergoing chemotherapy, aiming to provide comfort and dignity during their treatments. Although Amanda's life was tragically cut short, her dream lives on through AHRA's Comfycozy's for Chemo apparel, and her legacy endures through the organization's expansion of programs and services.

The Comfort and Care team at AHRA consists of licensed counselors, coaches, and mentors who provide free counseling, play therapy and supportive services to families affected by childhood cancer or another life-threatening illness. These services include bilingual individual, couples and family therapy sessions, grief counseling, mindfulness practices, mother mentoring and facilitated support groups for families to connect with others on a similar journey.
