Eating challenge supports local nonprofit

Recreo Cantina will be donating 100% of proceeds on April 4 from the Adios-Mio Burrito Challenge to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley to show their support for local nonprofits making a positive impact in the community.

In honor of National Burrito Day, Chandler’s locally owned Mexican restaurant Recreo Cantina is teaming up with the local nonprofit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley to host its ultimate burrito eating challenge on Thursday, April 4.

The Adios-Mio Burrito Challenge tests those who dare to devour a spicy 2-pound carne asada burrito within 12 minutes or less. Participants who are successful will have their burrito free of charge and will receive a special burrito challenge T-shirt and the opportunity for their picture to be featured on the wall of burrito champions at Recreo Cantina.

Recreo Cantina will be donating 100% of proceeds from the Adios-Mio Burrito Challenge (from participants who fail) to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley to show their support for local nonprofits making a positive impact in the community.

Rules:

  • Must finish entire burrito within 12 minutes.
  • Participants may only drink water during challenge.
  • Participants may use utensils or hands.
  • No sharing, only one participant per burrito.
