ADOT: SR 87 reopens in both directions north of Mesa after storm damage

During the July 17 monsoon, the Queen Creek Police Department had to shut down Ocotillo Road from Power Road to Sossaman Road as SRP completed work and the town's public works employees helped clear the roadway of debris due to storm damage and power lines down in that area.

State Route 87 has reopened in both directions north of Mesa, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Downed power lines had closed the road on July 17. The southbound lanes were closed at Shea Boulevard; the northbound lanes were closed from McDowell Road to Shea Boulevard while SRP completed work.

In addition, State Route 238 has reopened near Maricopa, according to ADOT. That highway had been closed due to recent flooding near milepost 35, about 10 miles west of Maricopa.
